Your wedding and subsequent honeymoon are some of the biggest and most important romantic events in your life. You deserve nothing but the very best experiences during these life-changing moments.

You have many options to choose from when deciding on the perfect honeymoon destination. The white, sandy beaches of a tropical island are a popular – if obvious – choice. Why not mix things up and treat yourself and your beloved to an African safari honeymoon?

The Eastern Cape promises you the best of both worlds: a unique South African safari honeymoon experience at Shamwari Private Game Reserve, all the while staying close enough to the coast to indulge in a beach day.

The city of Cape Town – known for its awe-inspiring natural landmarks such as Table Mountain and Cape Point, as well as its stunning beaches – is a mere flight away from Shamwari via Port Elizabeth’s airport. Explore the surrounding wine country by sampling some of the fine wines on offer by internationally acclaimed local vineyards. Enjoy all this and more against the breath-taking scenery.

Learn about the diverse cultures of friendly South Africans in the region. Try new experiences, meet wonderful people and explore all there is to offer. If you’d like to take the scenic route, travel along the Garden Route.

The 300km long stretch of south-western coast is as expansive as it is beautiful. There are a plethora of attractions along the way and you could choose to just spend a few days exploring.

Choose to end your honeymoon journey with a few nights’ stay at Shamwari Private Game Reserve, where you’ll be made to feel as special as you did on your wedding day. Start every day off by admiring a magnificent sunrise and end it with drinks, gazing at a picturesque African sunset with your beloved by your side.
