Follow the N2 out of Port Elizabeth heading towards Grahamstown (Makanda) bypassing the town of Colchester. 11km past Colchester use the left lane to take the N2 ramp to Grahamstown (Makanda). Continue on the N2 for 17km and take the R342 turn-off for Shamwari Private Game Reserve on your left. Travel 7km up the gravel road and enter at the Shamwari Private Game Reserve gate for the Welcome Lounge.

Follow the N2 out of Port Elizabeth heading towards Grahamstown (Makanda) bypassing the town of Colchester. 11km past Colchester use the right hand lane and continue straight on the N10 Craddock / Paterson split. Continue on for 43 km bypassing the town of Paterson until you reach the Alicedale signboards, turn to the right. Continue on for 11km on the tar road until you see the signage for Eagles Crag / Bayethe / Jean Byrd Born Free Foundation Sanctuary to your right and enter at the reserve for the Welcome Lounge North.

All guests staying at Eagles Crag and Bayethe will check in at the new Northern Welcome Lounge and be transferred to their lodge, this transfer would be approximately 30 minutes’ drive time.
